We had a fantastic time at this cozy guesthouse by the lake. the separate breakfast building was not an issue with its modern, well-equipped kitchen. the clean and warm bathroom was excellent, and the breakfast was incredibly generous, including local dishes and homemade jams. the cottage itself was spacious and had a beautiful view of horses in the field and the lake. the kitchen had everything we needed, and the bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of linen and towels. We even had the opportunity to visit the cows and sheep on the working farm. a wonderful stay.
Felt truly looked after, no complaints at all.

The location of this guesthouse is perfect, situated near the lake and visitor center. The breakfast offered here is exceptional, with homemade treats and fresh milk and eggs from their own farm. The room was spacious and clean, with heated floors in the beautiful bathroom. The staff and owners were friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to make us feel at home.
One thing to note is that there can be a lot of midges in the area, so it's good to come prepared with a bug net for your face.

The farmhouse was run by a friendly family who were great hosts, and they provided helpful information about road conditions during a blizzard. the breakfast was delicious and included homemade items, and the location next to the lake's craters was perfect for a scenic walk. Plus, being situated near a hotel allowed for the option of enjoying some time at the bar after a long day of exploring.
The room we stayed in had a double bed which was comfortable, but the bunk beds were noisy and uncomfortable for adults. the shower in our room was not working properly, which was inconvenient.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The homemade breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of locally sourced products. We especially loved the homemade ice cream - a real treat!
The noise level in the guesthouse was quite high, as there were many people staying in one house. This made it difficult to get a good night's sleep, especially for light sleepers.

Efficient and clean facilities with comfortable rooms. Good kitchen facilities and friendly staff. Located near volcanic topographical terrain, providing a unique and interesting setting. The water has a slight odor of sulphur but it is not overwhelming.
Rooms were basic and had mismatched furniture. Pillows were lumpy and thin.

I had the most amazing stay at a guesthouse near Lake Myvatn. The location was absolutely stunning, right in front of the lake, with so much to explore in the area. The owner, Asta, was incredibly attentive and made sure every little detail was taken care of. The farmhouse was spacious and well-maintained, with a convenient self-service kitchen. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, featuring local specialties like underground-baked bread and smoked trout. The highlight of my stay was walking among the cows in the cow barn and witnessing their feeding. I highly recommend this guesthouse for a memorable experience in Lake Myvatn.
